For example, in 2019, NASA, Google, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory discovered that a quantum computer called the Sycamore completed a random circuit sampling (RCS) task in three minutes and 20 seconds. That exact computation would’ve taken a regular computer 10,000 years to finish!
In turn, this would allow public and private industries to reach the quantum advantage – the point at which a quantum computer can exceed classical computing abilities.
Interestingly, new serverless or hybrid cloud environments can support even more data. A serverless cloud is an environment that allows developers to build and run applications without managing servers.
A hybrid cloud allows applications to run in a combination of different environments.
Unlike a hybrid or serverless cloud, an AI cloud is a shared infrastructure for AI algorithms that at the same time support numerous projects and workloads.
What is quantum computing? Quantum computing is a dynamic and a valuable solution for complex mathematical models, such as encryption methods that have been designed to take centuries to solve, even for supercomputers.
Combining quantum computing with AI cloud makes it easier and faster to solve complex problems and analyze data on a larger scale.
Although the modeling of a molecule does not seem imminent in the near future with classical computing, quantum computing could make it possible by solving equations that impede advances in extracting an exact model of molecules. Such a development could transform biology, chemistry, and material science.
With the power of quantum computers, data analytics and insight deploy quickly on robust platforms such as serverless and hybrid environments. In addition, simulations and computations on older data can bolster new application development efforts and bring new solutions to healthcare, defense, and the financial industry.
Further out on the horizon, users who gain access to a network of cloud-based quantum computers will eventually be able to connect to a quantum internet. A quantum internet will foster a bounty of information available to all users with fewer glitches.
