The CMS Section 508 program team is excited to continue to offer additional resources aimed at assisting CMS employees in creating accessible electronic content.

These resources will be presented through a series of Lunch & Learn sessions, specifically designed to empower everyone in OIT with the knowledge required to produce Section 508 compliant documents.

The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 prohibits discrimination based on disability and encompasses Section 508, which mandates CMS to ensure accessible information and communication technologies for both its employees and the public it serves.

The following offerings will be available to everyone in OIT, so mark your calendars now. See the broadcast appointment for meeting information. Please also note that prior Supervisory approval is required. If you need reasonable accommodations, email CMS Reasonable Accommodation at programreasonableaccommodationprogram@cms.hhs.gov at least five business days before the event.

Module 10: PDF Accessibility Checker

Join us to learn how to start making your PDF documents more accessible with the built-in Accessibility Checker feature of Adobe Acrobat Pro. We will cover the Accessibility Checker and its components, as well as the accessibility Action Wizard.

We will be providing a deeper analysis of the Accessibility Action Wizard and why the components of these steps are important for accessibility.
