New Season of DEI Book Club Starts 10/13

The OIT DEI Book Club kicks off its new season on Thursday, October 13 from 1-2pm ET via Zoom. Check your Outlook calendar invites for login information. Moving forward, Book Club meetings will take place at this time on the second Thursday of every month.

Last season we read Allies and Advocates by Amber Cabral. Thanks to all of our facilitators -- Julie Mason, Antoinette Johnson (AJ), Ann Turner, Karen Allen, and Leila Rao -- for leading conversations that taught us to re-evaluate our processes, intents, and privileges. 

One huge takeaway from the season was that you wanted to know, "How do we put this learning into action? I understand the destination, but what does the road look like, and where does it begin?"

Therefore, this season we are diving into How to Be An Inclusive Leader by Jennifer Brown! This book offers a practical framework with specific suggestions on navigating culture in a real way.

Thank you to everyone who voted on the book. We are saving the follow-up choices for future discussions. We look forward to seeing you for season two, chapter one!
